BREAKING NEWS: Group asks court to order Amaechi, Onu’s arrest

A group, Kingdom Human Rights Foundation, has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to order the arrests of the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, and his Science and Technology counterpart, Mr. Ogbonnaya Onu.
The plaintiff also sought an order of mandamus compelling President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack both ministers in public interest and public morality based on the allegations of attempts to influence court decisions recently levelled against them by two Justices of the Supreme Court.


BREAKING NEWS: CNPP asks Buhari not to sign amended CCB/CCT Act

The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties has condemned the amendment to the Code of Conduct Bureau and the Code of Conduct Tribunal Act by the National Assembly and urged President Muhammadu Buhari not to sign the amended Act.
The CNPP also called on well-meaning Nigerians and the civil society groups in the country, including the Nigerian Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress, to mount pressure on the President to withhold his assent to the said amendment.

There were indications on Sunday that Buhari’s $26.96bn loan request might not get a smooth passage in the House of Representatives.
Findings by The PUNCH showed that lawmakers were already querying the rationale for the “huge loan”, which they feared was a gradual return to the debt trap of yesteryears.
An official of the National Assembly said, “There will be serious legislative fireworks this week because we are not in ordinary times in Nigeria.

Kalu and others had been initially arraigned in 2007 before Justice Adamu Bello of the Federal High Court, Abuja (now retired).
