Breaking News: Bird Flu outbreak, fear grips Kaduna govt. 
The Kaduna State Government says its officials are monitoring to curtail possible spread of bird flu, following reported outbreak of the disease on a small farm in the state.
Dahiru Abdullahi, the Information Officer, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Development made the disclosure on Friday in Kaduna.

The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, says the announcement by three African countries of their intent to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC) sends a ‘wrong message’ to the world.
Ki-moon was quoted as saying this in a message twitted by the United Nations radio in its official twitter account @UN-Radion on Friday.

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, formally married off his daughter, Fatima, to Malam Yau Gimba Kumo in Daura, his home town in Katsina State.

The wedding took place at the president’s residence on Mai’adua road, Duura at about 2.40 p.m.
The groom, who was a former Managing Director of Mortgage Bank, paid N100,000 as dowry to the bride.


Breaking News: Presidency to miss Oct 31 presentation of budget to Senate



Presidency’s hope of presenting the N6.86 trillion 2017 Appropriation Bill to the National Assembly by October 31 has failed.
There were indications, earlier, that barring any change, President Muhammad Buhari would present estimates of the 2017 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly before next Monday.

 The Senate yesterday concurred with the House of Representatives in the transfer of powers from the President to the National Assembly on matters relating to the control of Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) and Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
But the passage of the bill in the Senate was not without heated debate among the Unity Forum and Like Minds lawmakers.

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the National Assembly to approve virement of N180 billion from N500 billion appropriated for the Special Intervention Programme, to finance key projects.
In a letter to senators at the commencement of yesterday’s plenary, the projects to be financed included the amnesty initiative, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and the Public Service Wage Adjustment (PSWA).


Breaking News: Senate, IG’s Suspends police recruitment


The Police Service Commission has suspended the ongoing recruitment of 10,000 personnel into the Nigeria Police Force following pressure from the Senate and the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
The decision to stop the exercise was taken by the commission about two weeks ago, shortly after it concluded the screening of 110,469 shortlisted candidates.
