The National Youth Service Corps is going into partnership with a firm, VMLEARN, to deploy technology in the implementation of the scheme's Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurshi
p Development (SAED) programme.
The partnership is geared towards achieving more results in the area of training, linkages, access to market, monitoring and evaluation, coordination and supervision among other benefits.
A memorandum of understanding on the new partnership was signed today at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director-Genera l,
Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, noted that the VMLEARN's expertise
in strategy, technology and programme management would help to take the
SAED programme to the next level.
He expressed confidence that the partnership would enhance the empowerment of Corps members towards self-employment and wealth creation.
Earlier, the principal partner of VMLEARN, Mr. Segun Araromi, had described the NYSC as the biggest platform for youth empowerment in the country.
He said in order to get people to appreciate the Scheme, his firm would create a solution that would properly beam its activities to the world.
